The Dalai Lama was born as Lhamo Thondup on the 6th of July,
1935 in a village in Tibet.
The 14th Dalai Lama began studying at the age of 6 and eventually
finished his Doctorate of Buddhist Philosophy at the age of
25. He was forced to take on great responsibilities at a young
age, when at just 16 he became the Head of State for Tibet during
